Our partners at the Alaska Beluga Monitoring Program (ABMP) have announced their spring orientation for new volunteers!

The ABMP is a community science program led by NOAA Fisheries that monitors the health of the Cook Inlet Beluga Whale population through collaboration between organizations, communities, and individuals. The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is proud to be a partner in this important project.

Cook Inlet Beluga whales are a vital part of our ecosystem, and they are endangered. This collaboration is a community science project that helps to deliver needed information on their status here in Cook Inlet in hopes of preserving this species.

A live virtual volunteer orientation will be held on Wednesday, March 20th from 6pm-7:30 with the ABMP. This will be recorded and posted on their website for those who cannot attend the live event but still want to join in this important and fun project!
