AWCC COVID Vaccination Information: AWCC is home to wildlife species in the mustelid, feline and cervid families which have been shown to be susceptible to illness from the corona virus (COVID-19). More than 60% of animals living at AWCC fall into these three categories. In order to keep staff and animals safe from COVID-19, all staff are required to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine that has been approved by the FDA or has been issued an Emergency Use Authorization. Retail Service Position: Full-time seasonal. This position is responsible for daily transactions for AWCC visitors in the retail shop. The Retail Service Position will be trained to work in the retail store. The retail lead will train retail staff. Retail duties include customer support, operating registers, and restocking inventory. This position is responsible for cash handling, customer support, restocking inventory, correctly, processing retail tractions, daily cleaning duties, tagging of inventory and tasks as assigned. Admission Service Position: Full-time seasonal. This position is responsible for daily transactions for AWCC visitors in the admission booth. Admissions duties include greeting visitors, correctly inputting daily transactions of individuals, commercial tour operators, cash handling, daily cleaning tasks, operating gates, handling high volume of guests, relaying rules and regulations of facility to all guests and special event participants. Custodian: Part-time; seasonal May – September. The custodial and grounds team play an integral role in protecting the health of building occupants as well as the animals in our care. They help prevent the spread of illness and infection and ensure a safe and clean environment. Our custodial team must have a positive, professional, and upbeat personality with a desire to maintain high cleanliness standards. The custodian position is one where responsibilities and duties can change day-to-day, while also needing to complete regular assignments, so multi-tasking and adapting to change are critical. Ideal candidates would arrive on time for scheduled shifts, happily greet and attend to customers, maintain restrooms, promote proper trash disposal and recycling habits, assist with event set up, patrol outdoor walkways and parking lots for trash, sweeping and shoveling boardwalks, and support other departments if necessary. Maintenance Tech: Under the direction of AWCC’s Facilities & Projects Manager, our maintenance position is one where responsibilities and duties can change daily. In addition to needing to complete regular assignments, multi-tasking and adapting to change are critical. Ideal candidates would arrive on time for scheduled shifts, happily greet and attend to customers, perform general maintenance of mechanical items, regular maintenance of buildings, vehicles, snow removal, road grading, assists with tidal variations, operates equipment in a safe manner, routine carpentry, painting, fence building, minor electrical, plumbing, and occasional custodial duties. This position is ideal for a driven and team-oriented individual that can manage keeping up with tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment working with many departments to meet specific needs. This position works in a variety of locations including restrooms, offices, behind the scenes staff areas, indoor and outside exhibits, retail space, company vehicles and more.
