We have a very important task for all of you AWCC fans — it’s time to help us decide on a naming theme for our animals!
We know this is a big, BIG decision, and that’s exactly why we’re turning to you for your creativity and expertise.
So first, you might be wondering: what exactly is a naming theme? A naming theme is a fun and meaningful way to name a group of animals using the same idea or inspiration. For example, if our theme were colors, we might have animals named Silver, Blue, or even Aqua — you get the idea!
These themes aren’t just cute and clever — they’re also really helpful. Naming themes allow us to group or categorize animals that arrive at the center around the same time or belong to the same species. They also make it easier for our staff to communicate about the animals and help visitors remember their names, which creates a stronger sense of connection to each animal’s unique story.
Now it’s your turn to weigh in! We’ve come up with five different themes that we think would provide excellent naming options for our future animals. Once you all decide on a theme, we will pick the names!
