No matter when you visit the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center—winter or summer—you’re in for a treat! From majestic glaciers to incredible wildlife like bears, there’s always something amazing to see.

Many people are surprised to learn that AWCC is open year-round. While our winter hours are shortened to match the limited daylight, our dedicated maintenance team keeps everything running smoothly despite the snow and cold temperatures. The sanctuary takes on a whole new personality in the winter, with sights and sounds that offer a special kind of magic.

Curious about when to visit? Check out our year-round hours of operation here!

We’d like to give a huge shout out to Nick and Sara, of 29 Pixel Studios, for filming this and putting it together! Go check out their content on Youtube and Instagram (@29pixelstudios)!
