Bring mom for a special visit on Sunday, May 10, 2026, and spend the day exploring the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center together. Enjoy the sanctuary at your own pace by walking, biking, or driving the 1.5-mile loop through 200 acres of spacious habitats where animals feel at home and showcase their natural wild behavior as education ambassadors for their species.

Guests often spot brown bears swimming, moose strutting, wood bison roaming, muskox playing, wolves posing, porcupines climbing, and more. Every visit offers something new and wild to discover.

Celebrate Mother’s Day with a special Naturalist Guided Walking Tour at AWCC. During this one-hour experience, discover the heartwarming baby stories of animals in our care and learn about the unique role of animal mothers in the wild. Led by one of our knowledgeable naturalists, you’ll explore the sanctuary, meet our resident animal ambassadors, and hear the rich history of the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. Along the way, you’ll gain insight into the important work we do to preserve Alaska’s wildlife through conservation, education, research, and exceptional animal care.
