We’re excited to announce that the application window for our summer Education Internship Program is officially live! We greatly appreciate everyone’s patience as our team worked to organize this program for the season. For those not familiar with our Education Internship, it’s a wonderful opportunity for those passionate about conservation to learn more about Alaska’s wildlife and to share that knowledge with others. You can learn more and apply here.

Unfortunately given the circumstances and budgetary constraints following the COVID-19 pandemic, the AWCC Animal Care department will not be hiring internship positions for the summer of 2021. Our sincerest apologies go out to those who were seeking experience and a summer of fun with us here at AWCC. The AWCC is very hopeful that Animal Care positions will be able to come back for the summer 2022 season. Please keep an eye on our website for updates on 2022 opportunities during December 2021.

Since we cannot offer Animal Care internship positions this year, we have developed some options within the Animal Care department to support those who may be interested in long-term volunteer opportunities. If you are interested, please email volunteer@alaskawildlife.org with the subject line “2021 Animal Care Volunteer.” You can find more information about AWCC’s other volunteer opportunities by clicking here.

Thank you again for supporting the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and for everyone’s patience and understanding. We look forward to a wonderful summer with our interns, volunteers, staff and animals!
