On May 24th, we marked a truly special occasion—the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center’s birthday! Alongside this milestone, we also celebrated the birthdays of several of our beloved resident animals who call AWCC home. It was a day dedicated to honoring another incredible year of wildlife conservation, community, and connection—and it exceeded all expectations!
Guests enjoyed a fun-filled day packed with engaging educational stations, hands-on crafts, and family-friendly activities. A highlight of the event was an up-close porcupine presentation, where visitors had the unique opportunity to learn more about these fascinating creatures. And of course, no celebration would be complete without a birthday party for Kobuk, one of our most charismatic animal residents!
Our dedicated education and animal care staff went above and beyond to make the day unforgettable—not just for our guests, but for the animals as well. They crafted creative enrichment activities including colorful party streamers, treat-filled boxes, and other festive surprises to keep our animals mentally stimulated and joyfully engaged.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us in celebrating this special day. Your presence and support help further our mission of wildlife conservation and education. Every visit to AWCC plays a vital role in the well-being of the animals we care for, empowers the staff who advocate for them, and contributes to a brighter future for wildlife across Alaska and beyond.
