We held our annual Belugas Count! event on September 13th — and what a gorgeous day it was!  Even better, we spotted three belugas just a couple of miles out.

Each year, this event shines a spotlight on the endangered Cook Inlet beluga whale population and shares practical ways the community can help. For example, local volunteers can train with the Alaska Beluga Monitoring Program, which collects vital data to better understand the factors influencing population changes. This knowledge helps guide conservation efforts and identify how we can make the greatest impact.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who joined us, supported our programs, and participated in the crafts. Your involvement raises awareness not only for Cook Inlet belugas but for wildlife conservation as a whole.
