After much anticipation, AWCC is beyond excited to introduce our newest resident: Warren, the red fox! You heard that right—Warren, named after the incredibly talented local artist Amanda Rose Warren and her husband Don.

Amanda and Don have been wonderful, long-time supporters of AWCC, and in gratitude for all they’ve done, we thought it was only fitting to honor them in the most adorable way possible: with a cute, furry friend! Welcome to the family, Warren! 🦊

Warren was brought to AWCC as a kit, weighing less than two pounds. He was found alone in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley by a construction worker, and it was assumed his mother had left him behind. The Alaska Department of Fish and Game worked with AWCC to have him transferred to the sanctuary. Given how young he was on arrival, he is deemed unreleasable and will now serve as a key ambassador for his species, the red fox. Though he has only been at AWCC for six months, his character and growth has made a lasting impression on our staff, and we know he will do the same for you all! Come meet Warren at AWCC to give him the warm welcome he deserves!

AWCC has special Holiday Hours! Come celebrate the season with the wildlife. In addition to our normal operations, we will be open on December 26, December 31, and January 2. Walk on the Wild Side Tours are open for booking which include an animal encounter and feeding. Kick-sleds are also available!
