We’re excited to announce AWCC’s 3rd Annual Art Contest in Partnership with the Wild Postcard Project! The contest is open for youth across Alaska from Kindergarten to 12th grade. This year’s theme is Alaska Biodiversity and young artists have until March 14th to submit their work. Whether it’s a drawing, sculpture, painting or mixed media, we’re excited for young artists to express their creative side and celebrate the wildlife of our beautiful state.

AWCC has partnered with the Wild Postcard Project for the 2021 contest. WWP is a 100% volunteer run global initiative founded in 2016. They provide educational opportunities about biodiversity through art contests for K-12 students. This year we are combining forces to reach students across Alaska.

Artists have three methods in which they can make a submission. These include our entry form, by mail, and by email. Once their artwork is received, artists will be selected in age group categories. AWCC staff-selected artists will be awarded $250 scholarships with their artwork featured in our Animal Adoption Program. A volunteer panel of biodiversity experts and artists will select winners on behalf of the Wild Postcard Project. Art will be showcased in a virtual art gallery and some will be published on postcards.

So, dig out your paint brushes and pencils and get creative! Learn more about the contest and how to make a submission by visiting our Alaska Biodiversity Art Contest page.
